Scarsdale woman busted for massive pot-growing operation in Queens
Feds busted a big-car-loving Scarsdale woman for allegedly running a massive pot-growing operation in Queens, court documents revealed.
Andrea “Andi” Sanderlin, 45, ran her illicit business under the name “Fantastic Enterprises” in Maspeth, racking “usually high amounts of electricity bills”, DEA Special Agent David Lee wrote.
Agents found 1,000 pot plants inside the 57th Drive building when they raided Sanderlin’s place late last month.
“Law enforcement agents entered … pursuant to a search warrant and discovered a warehouse containing a sophisticated operation to grow and process marijuana,” Lee wrote.
“Agents discovered two separate rooms constructed within the warehouse designed to grow marijuana. Each room contained state of the art lighting, irrigation and ventilation systems to facilitate the marijuana.”
Lee concluded: “Between the two rooms, law enforcement agents seized more than 1,000 marijuana plants and large quantities of dried marijuana.”
Agents spent several days scoping out Sanderlin driving from Scarsdale to the Maspeth pot spot. She drove a gray 2010 Mercedes GL4 and a white 2005 Chevrolet van.
Sanderlin, charged with alleged conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana, also has black 2004 Jeep Liberty registered to her name.
The suspect came to the feds’ attention from a “confidential witness,” according to Lee.
Sanderlin’s lawyer could not be immediately reached for comment today.
The suspect lists herself as a native of Bettendorf, Iowa, now living in Manhattan, according to her Facebook page. She does maintain an address in Manhattan, according to the DEA’s complaint.
Sanderlin has a middle-school-aged daughter who loves horses. She posted a Facebook video of her little girl riding in equestrian gear.
